Rest is Part of the Process

Making progress is cyclical. Some days, you get a lot done. Other days, you need to retreat and rest. Both phases are essential, though we’re usually more proud of the active days, as they provide something more tangible to show for it.

In order to build stamina, rest is essential. If you’re training for a running marathon, rest days are an important part of the training routine. Rest allows us to catch our breath, heal our muscles, and reflect on what we’re accomplishing on the active days to be sure we’re on track.

Make regular time for rest from your projects. Give yourself a little place of refuge where you can release expectations, restore your energy, and then recommit to your goals.
