Why creativity makes you smarter

Creativity is a vital component of intelligence.

Intelligence is “a capacity for learning, reasoning, understanding, and similar forms of mental activity” (www.dictionary.com). Creativity helps us learn by keeping our minds flexible and adaptable, ready to absorb new information. Creativity helps us reason by forming connections between concepts, comparing and contrasting them. Creativity helps us understand by looking deeply with curiosity at a thing.

Creativity is essential in problem-solving. Without creativity, you would be unable to imagine different outcomes and create solutions for complex issues.

The more you practice being creative and flex your creativity, the more your mind will be prepared when it needs to do some heavy-duty problem-solving.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

Albert Einstein

The more you exercise your creativity, the more intelligent you become. Creativity makes you smarter.
