How to Overflow with Gratitude

coach-blog-110216-gratitude-full-heart This month, my theme has been gratitude. Today I am overflowing with gratitude.

As you read this, I am having a siesta in my hotel in Rome, almost mid-way through my vacation. I spent the morning and afternoon eating delicious food, walking around my favorite city, and admiring ancient ruins.

It’s easy for me to overflow with gratitude here because I’m not distracted with my usual, day-to-day stuff. Even when there is a transit strike, which happens regularly in Italy; even when my feet are sore from walking all day; even when a noisy truck goes down the alley while I’m trying to nap, it is easy for me to overflow with gratitude. I’m in the moment, experiencing everything with all my senses, with nothing but leisure time. Everything is awesome!

Of course, in any moment, we can pause and make a little leisure time for gratitude. There is so much to be grateful for, even when you’re not on vacation in Rome.

I hope you’ve taken some time this month in the spirit of Thanksgiving to reflect on the things you’re grateful for, and I hope this is a regular occurrence for you. The more we find to be grateful for, the more we see new things to be grateful for. Gratitude is a perspective, and it makes life a little more pleasant.

What are you grateful for today?
