Creativity Dis-ease 2: Stored Creativity Calories

This month, we’re talking about “Stored Creativity Calories.” Can you relate?

You feel uninspired and lethargic. The longer you go without doing something creative, the more uninspired and lethargic you feel. With low creative energy, you can’t figure out what creative project to work on, so you do nothing. You wait for inspiration to strike and just sit there, waiting, feeling more and more bloated.

The trick with this creativity dis-ease is to do something, do anything, to get moving! Like a physical fitness program, it’s difficult to begin. You might try walking one mile and feel uncomfortable, but the only way to improve is to keep going. Change is always uncomfortable, but don’t let it be an excuse to stop. Start burning your creativity calories in little creativity workouts and you’ll initiate some momentum, you’ll gain some energy, and you can start attempting bigger and more vibrant projects.
