Creative Questions are a regular feature on my blog; basically, a journal question to get you further along in your creative pursuits or creatively tackle other goals. If journaling isn’t your thing, feel free to take the question as your focus for a meditation, a prayer, or a piece of artwork.
If you have set resolutions for 2016, you probably have a vision for the changes you want to make in your life. You might see yourself at a new job, in a new relationship, or in a healthier body. But “vision” is just one of your senses and, to really stick, it helps to tie all of your senses together.
To make lasting change, you can’t just have a vision, you need the whole multi-sensory experience; the day-to-day choices that weave together to create a new tapestry, of which your vision is the blue-print.
It doesn’t need to be complicated, just think “as if”, as Denise Linn likes to say. If your goal is to be more creative this year, to write a novel or sell some art, build your days as if you already are creative, already are writing a novel, already are producing art to sell. Overlay your blue-print on your life and move it into alignment. Take the first step toward alignment and then take the next step. Don’t over think it, don’t over plan, don’t worry whether you’re doing it right; just keep taking steps to match your blue-print.
Create your experience this year step by step into whatever you want it to be. You have the power of choice every day, every minute, to make your dreams happen. You just need to keep taking the next step.
