The dream gazes into you

Coach Blog 010515

“He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.”
Friedrich Nietzsche, philosopher (1844-1900)

When I came across this quote recently, my first thought was, “And if you gaze for long at a dream, the dream gazes into you.”

As we begin the new year, I invite you to gaze longingly into your dream and let it gaze back into you. Your dream needs you to bring it into the physical world. Of all the people on this planet, your dream chose you. You are partners. Get to know each other. You’re probably going to spend a lot of time together.

Spend some time day-dreaming about your dream. Curl up in your favorite spot with a cup of tea and let your focus get soft and fuzzy. Invite your dream to join you. Sit together for 5 minutes or 5 hours, dreaming the dream. You don’t need to do anything practical with it yet; I’ll have an exercise for that on Wednesday. Just gaze into each other and let yourself imagine a beautiful 2015 where you and your dream get it on.

If you’d like to share, I would love to know what you’re dreaming and how it feels to gaze into it! Share in the comments or send me an email.
