Idols: Cheryl Richardson

As I said in my post on June 18 (Coaching Idols), it’s important to have inspirational role models as you’re coaching yourself. These people can be your resources, motivators, and trail-blazers so you’re not really going it alone!

Another of my idols is Cheryl Richardson.

I learned about Cheryl 5 months ago from the line-up on Hay House radio. Her show is Monday afternoons. She has a very soothing voice but her advice is no-nonsense. She was a pioneer in the coaching industry and has written best-selling books “Take Time for Your Life” and “Stand Up for Your Life.”

Some great things I’ve learned from Cheryl:

1. “My work is all about helping people love themselves; making self-care a priority for healing and being a source for good in the world.” True growth originates with love. If you come from a place of fear or lack, you won’t get very far.

2. “Before you get a career coach, invest time in your personal growth, get more connected to who you are and your essence, and that informs everything else.” You need to know who you are, what you value, and what you really want before you can move your life forward.

3. “A coach is a partner who’s only goal is your success.” Do you believe in your own success?

Listening to her Hay House show always gives me some new pieces of coaching advice. Check it out this afternoon!
